EllinikoTheatro (the Greek Theatre Foundation) is an international performing arts organization dually based in New York and Athens. Since its inception in 1979 it has sought to serve as an innovative carrier of cultural diplomacy, expanding the temporal, spatial and social boundaries of Hellenic theater.
EllinikoTheatro is an American 501(c)3 nonprofit tax-exempt organization. For over 30 years, EllinikoTheatro has endeavored to bring classical, medieval and contemporary Greek literature and drama to theaters, festivals, schools, universities and communities around the world. Minimal sets and casts, bilingual productions, post-performance discussions, seminars, etc. render the work globally accessible and attractive to a wide range of hosts, audiences and sponsors.
DESCRIPTION: The Foundation is currently looking for an individual who is fluent in both Greek and English to conduct administrative tasks and translation services on a part-time basis for a modest stipend.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: The ideal candidate is interested in cultural institutions, the arts, Hellenic culture, and non-profit business management. Knowledge of WordPress and iContact are a plus.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Fluency in both Greek and English. Knowledge of Excel, and other MS Office Suite programs. Competence in online media research. Fluency with social media platforms (including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.). Working knowledge of Skype, Gmail, and Dropbox functions. Must work well independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced project-oriented environment.
LOCATION: The candidate is expected to do the majority of his/her work remotely. Occasional meetings in New York will be required to complete special tasks.
SALARY: Commensurate with experience.
